The Delhi Police on Friday filed a 936-page chargesheet in the murder case of dreaded gangster Tillu Tajpuria. Sunil alias Tillu Tajpuria, who had murdered his rival Jitender Gogi in the court complex in 2019, was arrested and lodged in Tihar jail. On May 2, 2023, he was killed within the jail complex. He was stabbed over 90 times by four rival gangsters inside his cell in Jail No. 8. Delhi Police arrested four inmates – Deepak Titar, Yogesh Tunda, Riyaz Khan and Rajesh. The Special Cell also caught two more inmates - Vinod Chavanni and Ataul Rehman - for their alleged involvement in planning and executing the murder. The Delhi Police has filed the case under Sections 302, 307, 353, 34, 196, 353, 120 -B and 201 of the Indian Penal Code.

The four main accused who have been named in the case are Deepak alias Tittar, Yogesh alias Tunda, Riyaz alias Ganda and Rajesh alias Karambir. Vinod and Ataul Rehaman have been named as conspirators. As per the Delhi Police, Tillu Tajpuria was attacked with handmade pointed metal instruments.

After the murder of Tillu Tajpuria on May 2 this year, police recovered six blood stained knives. The Delhi Police also collected evidences in form of photography and videography. The testimonies of other gangsters and inmates - Satyawan Sonu, Vijay Sehrawat, Manjeet Mahal, Pradeep Solanki, Rohit and Rahul - was also taken. The statement of the witnesses have been recorded under Section 164 CRPC.

The next hearing in this case will be held in Patiala House Court on August 17. Tillu Tajpuria, who was associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was one of the most dreaded gansters. He had eight cases of crime registered against him including the murder of his main rival Jitender Gogi within the jail complex.
